Mornington Peninsula Shire Council has adopted its Food Economy and Agroecology Strategy. The Strategy supports Council’s Climate Emergency Plan which, amongst other targets, aims to sequester 1m tonnes of atmospheric carbon and have 20% of farms adopt regenerative practices.
ReGen Soils along with One Planet Consulting and DJR Environmental worked with council staff over two years to deliver this ground-breaking strategy.
Council is giving effect to the Strategy through a range of activities including running courses on regenerative agriculture, and most recently, a demonstration of on-farm composting. See link.
